Highlights of New Student Orientation

On November 16th, 2019, we welcomed our new members to the REACH Memphis family. 62 sophomores were inducted into the program with a grand welcoming at CME Church by the REACH staff, mentors, parents, and student leaders. Before the ceremony, the students had the opportunity to get to know each other with icebreakers administered by student leaders. Afterward, the students were welcomed into the sanctuary with a crowd of support. As the ceremony proceeded, speakers came to the microphone and talked about their experiences, gave advice, discussed the principles of REACH, and set the standard for REACH members. Each letter of REACH, Responsibility, Excellence, Accountability, Community, and Honor, was expressed beautifully by our Student Executive Board with an astounding performance by Myles Robinson. The sophomores stood as they said the REACH pledge and shook the hands of the REACH family. They are now full-fledged members of REACH Memphis and will soon be in the process of being selected for their summer experiences.
