Ways to Give
Students are eligible to apply to REACH Memphis if they are
enrolled in the 10th grade in a public high school in Shelby County, Tennessee.
taking the highest-level courses offered in your school (Honors/AP/IB) with no semester grades lower than a C.
maintaining a weighted GPA of 3.5 or higher with
participating in school and/or community volunteer activities.
willing to commit to regular participation
in REACH Memphis in preparation for the summer experience and for college admittance.
responsible and willing to experience independence in different environments.
Experience learning in different environments by attending summer programs at preparatory schools, colleges or expeditionary leadership programs.
Prepare for college by working with our college readiness counselors,
Participating in college preparation activities and discovering the vast opportunities different colleges
Transition to college with a network of resources to help you make the most of your freshman year.
Enjoy a relationship with a REACH Memphis mentor who offers you ongoing support.
Applications are submitted online. They are screened to make sure they are complete and that applicants meet the eligibility criteria.
Applicants’ essays and recommendations are reviewed to ensure that students are committed to the program’s goals of supporting them in gaining admission to and achieving success in college.
Qualified students are invited to be interviewed as part of the selection process.
Parents and guardians participate in the interview process as an opportunity to receive more in-depth information about the program and for us to learn more about the students.
Students are notified of their acceptance soon after interviews.
Accepted students and families are invited to REACH Memphis’ New Student Induction and Orientation.
REACH Memphis applications are submitted online. The application page will go live at midnight on Sept. 12, 2019, following our interest meetings and will close on Sept. 30 at midnight.
