This year’s class of 2023 was groundbreaking for REACH Memphis. We were able to recruit an outstanding group of young people ready to meet and lead during a time when our entire world faced a momentous challenge none of us could have imagined. It has been exciting to watch them engage in the various activities provided in preparation for their summer experiences; all of which occurred virtually due to the pandemic. Yet, they each made their participation meaningful and memorable.

They began with the orientation and induction ceremony which ignited a bond among students, mentors, staff, board of directors and families that continues to grow among them. Since then, they worked diligently with their mentors preparing for their summer programs. The REACH Memphis family can say that the efforts made by our students are paying off as they each are well prepared and eagerly awaiting their summer experiences!

The coronavirus challenged everyone’s planning and expectations, but all displayed patience, understanding and clear thinking as we worked through the stages of the virus spread. In doing so, our students have shown eminence maturity and growth resulting from their unique learning experiences this year.
